It's a bit like Lord of The Flies. The boys are mostly privileged, and used to getting their way. I sent 2 boys here for 4 years. They both told me they would fight me if I tried to send our third son.
One of my sons is on the Autistic spectrum, and was constantly bullied. I ran into one of his classmates recently, who told me he was the most picked on kid in the school. They would take his book bag when he was in a stall in the bathroom, take all the books out and throw them down the hall. Weekly occurrence

A young alumni English teacher had the boys watching Dexter and South Park , and answering questions based on these 2 shows for extra credit.

Both of those shows are rated "Not Recommended" by various Catholic sources. We do not watch either show in our house.

My son asked if there was any academic work he could do instead, and was told no.

He went to his guidance counselor and complained. The next day, a group of students surrounded him and told him to leave the teacher alone, or else. My son was insistent that he told no one else of his visit to the counselor's office.

This teacher was very popular with the students. He had a policy that what happens in his class, stays in his class. This led to a certain disdain for school authority and standards in his classes. I am assuming he told some of his students, after he was informed of my son's visit to counseling.

At Prom, my son was surrounded again, by 15 or so class members, who separated him from his date. They threw him around, punched and kicked him for about 20 seconds, then dissipated into the crowd. He could not identify anyone, as he was covering his face. It looked like a bunch of boys doing a wild dance, so no chaperones even noticed.

We had no luck in addressing any of these issues with the Admin, as we could not identify any of the boys in any of the situations.

Except one. There was a boy who sat at breakfast and lunch with my boy, he was from a military family from another North American country. If my son left the table, he would mess with his food, dumping orange juice in his coffee, over-salting the food, dumping condiments on things. Just basic bullying. This boy was also in our carpool. When I called his parents to talk about what was going on, the mom was helpful. The father, an officer, was not. He became very aggressive, calling me names, challenging me, etc.
My son was kicked out of the carpool, for BEING BULLIED! This was not Jesuit's fault, but somewhat indicative of the culture there.

The admin never did address the bully for his actions at the school. It seemed every time we tried to address anything, it got worse. I had higher expectations from a Catholic school.

Only one boy ever stuck up for my son in his time there. The teachers were arrogant, and left things to work themselves out, instead of guiding and mentoring, in the Jesuit spirit.

If you have a son with ANY special needs, he better have very thick skin.

I have apologized to my boys for having sent them there.
