While lengthy, I hope this helps you make an informed decision if you’re considering renting here.
While I was only with Oak Ramble for one year I was appalled by the response time and enthusiasm to solve issues by both office staff and maintenance workers themselves. Of the work orders that were put in at my time there I believe one was done the way that was expected. We eventually started living with some issues because we knew they wouldn’t be resolved. Allegra is a shining example of customer service. Whenever we needed ANYTHING we would say a small prayer that she would be there for us. Outside of dropping off the rent check or picking up a package you should really wait until she is available to assist you.
Several work orders had to be submitted more than once or called in to "check up on" because the response times were not on the date or time originally quoted. Sometimes issues were not even documented to the maintenance staff after calling them in to the front office. If there was an issue needing to be fixed you really had to plead your case. There was never a simple instance of "sure we can get that fixed for you."
Privacy was not respected. If you requested a phone call or notice for them to enter while you were home, you were out of luck. We had recently adopted a kitten and did not want him to run out or be frightened by workers in the apartment. They will come in when it is convenient for them, do not expect notice.
We had one of the “upgraded” apartments with the “upgraded” appliances and finished sinks. These items rusted very quickly and we were told nothing could be done for this. The bottom cabinet of the kitchen sink had rotted out and the counter tops had either warped or were coming apart.

After recent renovations, concrete around our front door area had visible concrete chipped and looked worse than if they had left it alone. During the time of the renovation we noticed that our electric bill had been soaring, this was explained to us by the complex that “while the siding of the building was basically missing that the air conditioner was having to work harder to cool the apartment.” After the renovations, we were still seeing the staggering electric bill and had the electric company do an independent test on the AC unit. It was still having to do more work than it should have. It was not until calls to the corporate office and mention of a lawyer did a resolution take place.
If water is an important resource in your life expect to limit that here. This situation was getting better towards the end of our lease, but it seemed for a while that the water would randomly shut off (sometimes without notice) throughout the day for hours at a time. On the topic of water don’t expect to have a fair water bill. You do not receive your own water bill based off your own usage, but instead pay a part of the average water bill for the other apartments in your building.
On the other hand, if you are one with nature there are plenty of bugs! Roaches, ants, caterpillars, and several other creatures lurking in and around the apartment regardless of cleanliness. When pest control would come out, nothing would appear to have been done. No furniture or items were moved.
Regarding maintenance, do not expect anyone to help unless you call about the same work order or issue several times. Even then the resolution will be poor.
    Community
What could be a very quiet and peaceful area (lots of beautiful trees, plenty of shade) is unfortunately overrun by inhabitants that overcrowd the community. It does not matter what time of day it is there is usually a large amount of people hanging out on the roads of the complex. It seems as if there are usually 6-8 people living in the 1-2-bedroom apartments. There is no respect for personal space when in the community. People may walk into your car or sit on it. Just a few weeks ago right before we moved out, my roommate’s car was broken into. Often the front gate is left wide open for days at a time or one half of the gate will not open.
