  Dec 2nd was my 50th birthday...I was in the hospital having had emergency surgery Dec 1st. I put my birthday on hold until Dec 9th. I have always wanted to do high tea, and after much research, I chose the Royal Tea Room. I was not disappointed. The shop is adorable and eclectic with everything from tea and fancy tea cups to Gasparilla souvenirs and so much more. The tea room is gorgeous and so peaceful. I requested earl grey and was not disappointed. The scones are killer, the savories were oh so good, and the deserts were heavenly. The staff was gracious and charming, attentive without being cloying. This is a new birthday tradition...and probably even sooner.
